Participants will have be able to respond to questions concerning the Ethical Issues and Behaviors.  The program will be based on Ethical Issues that face agents and agencies.  To understand the ethical behavior to the legal responsibility of agents. 

Participants will also identify the key impacts of Ethical Behavior to the insurance laws, customer service, account development, government regulations and errors and omissions. Society’s expectations based the facts of the issue, foundation of ethical behavior, and contractual authority with carriers.

Legal standards and professional responsibility and laws creating the legal responsibility.  They will also understand the legal duties based on industry standards, state laws (regulations) and oral/and written contracts/agreement.

Discussion on the factors leading to increased claims against agents and agencies.  In this area discussion is on the specializations of services, diversity of policies, and complexity of forms.   Standards set in the agencies to ensure employees are trained and understand the ethical culture in the agency.

The course will discuss the insurance consumer’s perceptions of the activities and operation of insurance coverages from both a legal and coverage perspective.  In this class we will learn about the ethical portion and impact both to the insured, agent, insurance carrier and society. The course will discuss the trends and some ethical cases to determine what were the best techniques to use in an agency to protect the consumer and agent.  Coverage limits to carriers and the commitment and consciousness in reasoning and judgment skills.
