Cyber Risk Assessment Program

Cybersecurity is now a core business survival challenge,
not just an “IT” issue.

All businesses, even the smallest can and will be affected by a cybercrime at some point.

PIA is urging its members to take actional steps to identify and fix cyber weaknesses to satisfy tightening insurer requirements and new state regulations.

According to a report by Accenture, forty-three percent of cyberattacks are aimed at small businesses, but only 14% are prepared to defend themselves. Are you ready?

Think about this:

The state of Cyber Risk has exponentially increased in the last decade. The cybercrime risks have increased dramatically in the last decade and regulators are taking action.

Expanding Regulations

  • GDPR
  • CCPA (CA Consumer Privacy Act)
  • NAIC Insurance Data Security Model Law
  • NY Cyber Requirements for Financial Services Companies
  • New State privacy laws currently in CA, CO, VA, TX, NV, MS, and more states will be implementing similar laws very soon.
  • Michigan Insurance Data Security Law requires agencies with 25 or more employees to file a cyber plan with the state. Other states are expected to follow suit.

Cyber Crime is evolving every single day. Therefore, agents make a profound mistake to not take this seriously simply by thinking they are too small to be a target. It is your responsibility to talk about the dangers of cybersecurity with your clients as it is for you to protect your agency. “You have to practice what you preach”

Ask yourself, “how well is your agency managing the following?”:

  • Rising Rates
  • Shrinking Capacity
  • Tightening underwriting requiring stronger cyber security efforts
  • Revising your Agency Agreement

WE ALL HAVE TO WORK IN THIS DIGITAL ECOSYSTEM!

This program gives your agency the tools to take the actions you need to take and how to do it in one flat fee of $549.00.

The multi-phase cybercrime campaign by PIA national gives our Western Alliance members critical tools to comply with regulations, and insurer requirements and address client concerns about coverages and data security.

This one-of-a-kind assessment for member agencies will deliver critical insights on agency cyber weaknesses, both directly and through the third-party vendors you may use.

Developed by longtime PIA advocate Thomas H. Wetzel & Associates, the 4-step process for the detailed assessment requires minimal time beginning with a 15-minute call to answer your basic questions and concerns about cyber security.

The PIA campaign also includes an expanded cyber section on the national site with other events to be announced in the future.

In addition to detailed analyses of the agency’s unique cyber weaknesses, the assessment includes tools to turn recommendations into action. This includes tools to help your existing IT service if you have one and resource information on more advanced services and tools to support in-house or outside IT services.

Deliverables also include an analysis of an agency’s vendor user agreements, agency and vendor breaches, and detailed mitigation recommendations in an easily understood, non-technical format.

The one-time cost is $549 and is a significant saving over going it alone.

The entire process typically takes 7-10 days, including a consultation after the report is delivered.
