Montana — Montana State Fund 3% Reduction: The Montana State Fund (MSF) is the Treasure State’s largest workers’ compensation insurer. Last week the State Fund board of directors approved a 3% rate decrease.

The final decision is now in the hands of insurance commissioner, Troy Downing.

If it is approved, Laurence Hubbard, the MSF CEO said rates will be 54.1% lower than they were in 2006. That was the last time the MSF had a rate hike.
