Montana — MTFP Business of the Year: The PIA Montana congratulates the Montana Free Press for winning several annual LION awards. The LION Awards celebrate sustainable businesses and journalistic excellence in independent online news across the United States. LION Publishers’ membership includes more than 440 independent news organizations.

The Montana Free Press is a non-profit, independent, free news service.

The online news source was named business of the year for 2022, got top honors for general excellence and was named product of the year for its innovative 2022 election guide.

“Montanans have come to view MTFP as a valued and trusted source of in-depth information about the issues that matter most to them, and now our peers across the country have recognized MTFP as a leader in this growing field of independent online news organizations,” said MTFP Executive Director and Editor-in-Chief John Adams.

Washington — Premium Change Transparency – Third Draft (Comment Period Extended): We are extending the timeframe provided to submit comments and feedback on the Third Draft of the Premium Change Transparency rulemaking (R 2022-01).

Comments on the Third draft are now due by close of business (5:00 PM) on the extended deadline of Monday, November 14, 2022; please send comments to RulesCoordinator@oic.wa.gov.  This is the final and only extension to be provided for comments or feedback on the Third Draft.

Washington — Accessing and receiving health care services and benefits (R 2022-03): We adopted the Accessing and Receiving Health Care Services and Benefits rule (R2022-03) on November 2, 2022. The rule takes effect on December 3, 2022. This rule amends existing rules as needed to be consistent with ESHB 1821 (Chapter 213, Laws of 2022) regarding accessing and receiving audio-only telehealth.
