We’re just leaving the annual holiday season. From Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, parties and partying are the norm. That’s the case for all age groups. That means lots of family gatherings, business gatherings and office parties.
Some of us are prone to drinking too much at these events and during the season. And many of us tend to drink too much all year long.
A whopping 76% of us consider a drunk driver on the roadway to be the biggest hazard they face during the holidays.
New Year’s Eve — to no one’s surprise — is the day dreaded the most.
As we all know, big fines and expensive court appearances follow a drunk driving charge. Added to that is an average 76% rise in auto insurance rates following a DUI conviction.
Drunk driving — however — is also with us during the time of year that aren’t named “the holidays.” That’s part of the point of this story and how dangerous an automobile can be when the driver is under the influence.
