Infurify tracks all things insurance. A recent report looked at homeowners insurance rates. That report found the average homeowners policy in the U.S. is $1,211 per year. The average value of homes in America is $265,712.90.
Homeowners in five of the nine PIA Western Alliance states — Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona — pay the lowest homeowners insurance rates in the country. The highest rates are in Louisiana, Florida and Texas. Louisiana’s average is $1,968 per year. Floridians pay $1,951 and in Texas the average annual rate is $1,893.
Those very high rates are due to those quite expensive natural disasters like hurricanes. Flooding is also a problem in all three states.
