PIA Oregon’s Annual Conference — An Event Not to be Missed

The PIA of Oregon is “giving you something to sip about” by focusing on the agent/client connection and how to navigate the current state of the market while focusing on E&O and your bottom line. All of this in the beautiful backdrop of Hood River Oregon and the Best Western Plus Hood River Inn.

As with any PIA conference, the main focus is connecting agents with agents, and agents with companies and company personnel and vice versa. Add to that all important CE credits from exceptionally interesting classes, and some fun, and your two or three days at the PIA Oregon conference is time well spent.

Let’s take Thursday’s general session for example. It follows the annual awards luncheon where PIA Oregon introduces its agent the year and company person of the year. This year’s general session is titled Conversations For Impact. This session is designed for thoughtful conversation and leadership.

The panelists are:

  • Cole Powell – Agent, Hopp Insurance, McMinnville, OR
  • Deborah Mohr – Certified Risk Management Consultant
  • Kevin Kelly – Risk Management Consultant
  • Russ Schwikert – Agency Partner, Ashland Insurance
  • Stacie Ekstrom, CIC – Vice President, Wheatland Insurance, Ione, OR

They bring expertise from the agency retail sector, operations, human resources, financial services and technology on how to navigate the hard market and more. After their initial presentations, there will be breakouts on more specific topics before the group convenes again to come to actionable conclusions.
