
The cost of doing business with the U.S. Postal Service is going up.
This is the second price hike authorized by the USPS governors. It’s about 5.4% and is designed to offset inflation. And the price rises are needed to keep the USPS afloat because it no longer gets tax dollars to sustain its existence.
Here’s a list of the changes you can expect. Changes went into effect last Sunday.
Forever stamps
- Now — 66 cents
- Up from — 63 cents
Mailing a one-ounce letter
- Now — 66 cents
- Up from — 63 cents
Mailing a one-ounce metered letter
- Now — 63 cents
- Up from — 60 cents
Postcard prices
- Now — 51 cents
- Up from — 48 cents
Sending a one-ounce letter to another country
- Now — $1.50
- Up from — $1.45
Sending a postcard to another country
- Now — $1.50
- Up from — $1.45
Each ounce over one-ounce per letter will stay at 24 cents.
