Success Stories

Deidre Thede, CIC

Deidre Thede, CIC

Barker-Urelings Insurance | Corvallis, OR

Growing up in the industry I always admired those who had their CIC designation because I saw the commitment, hard work, and determination it takes to obtain. It is an honor to be included in such an elite group of professionals in the industry and I look forward to continuing my education.

An Oregon native, I grew up in Salem and then moved to Corvallis to obtain my Bachelors’ degree in Business Finance at Oregon State (Go Beavs!). While going to school, I worked as a part-time assistant in the Commercial Lines Department at Barker-Uerlings and accepted a full-time position upon graduating.

I continued furthering my career at the agency, including learning the operations and accounting side. During my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my husband and daughter, going for runs in the country, and spending time with family.

Alliance Insurance Group | Eugene, OR

I’ve worked in the insurance industry for over 35 years working as an underwriter on the carrier side, then moving to the agency side where I’ve had the opportunity to work in account servicing, marketing and now as an Account Executive.

Completing the CIC designation is an important step to my continued professional growth and an affirmation of my experience in the insurance industry. Continuing education is an important part of maintaining my professionalism in an industry that is constantly changing and evolving.

Jesse Nielsen

Agency Insurance Consultants | Des Moines, WA

I am a Native of Coeur d' Alene Idaho and a graduate of The University of Northern Colorado. I have been with Agency Insurance Consultants since 2014. I specialize in commercial lines, but also advise clients on their personal insurance and life insurance needs. I live in Tacoma with my wife and 2 year-old daughter.

Earning the CIC designation is very important to me, and is the first step to furthering my insurance career. More important than the designation is the knowledge that I have learned and been able to use daily with my clients. I highly recommend any insurance professional that wants to further their career and product knowledge to attend the Certified Insurance Counselor classes. It has been vital to my success.

Lauren Kirby, CIC

Lauren Kearbey, CIC

Poulsbo, WA

Lauren was born and raised in Austin, TX (go Longhorns!). She worked for a mono-line WC carrier in Austin for 13 years, mostly in the Loss Control Department. She earned her CRM in 2015 and her CIC in 2018. In 2017 Lauren and her husband made the decision to move to the Seattle area. They absolutely love it there! She is currently doing contract work and enjoying working from home while pursuing her CPCU.

“Earning the CIC designation is a sign of my hard work and dedication to increasing my industry knowledge. It lets everyone know that I strive for excellence and have the knowledge and dedication to achieve it.”
