CPIA - Certified Professional Insurance Agent

Empowering Insurance Professionals into the Future

The CPIA designation is first-of-its-kind, hands-on, how-to training. To earn the CPIA designation candidates are required to participate in a series of three, one-day seminars THE BEST PART IS NO EXAMS!
Completion is due three years from the first course.

These seminars are designed to enhance the ability of producers, sales support staff, and company personnel to efficiently create and distribute effective insurance programs. Participants leave with ideas that will produce sales results immediately.

While not a requirement, it is recommended that courses are taken in order.E&O Discounts apply for Utica National Policy Holders.

During this workshop, participants focus on internal and external factors affecting
the creation of effective business development goals.

Factors discussed include:

current state of the insurance                 marketplace

competitive pressures

insurance carrier underwriting criteria

consumer expectations.

During this workshop, participants learn:

specific tools for analyzing consumer needs

how to utilize risk identification techniques to gather pertinent prospect
information

skills necessary to assimilate information gathered into customized coverage recommendations

how to prepare a complete submission

tips for preparing and presenting a comprehensive insurance proposal

This workshop focuses on fulfilling the implied promises contained in the insuring agreement.

Participants will:

review methods of providing evidence of insurance coverage

discuss policies and procedures for controlling errors and omissions including policy review and delivery, endorsements, claims-processing, and handling of client complaints

learn how to calculate the lifetime value of a client and techniques for generating referrals.

CPIA Update Requirement

The Certified Professional Insurance Agent designation stands for professionalism, commitment to professional training and results, and technical knowledge. To maintain the right
to use the CPIA designation, designees must complete an update on an annual basis * or maintain a Ruby, Sapphire or Diamond level membership with the CPIA Program.

Imperial PFS’ Cindy Brunner has passed away. PIA Western Alliance Executive Vice President Kim Legato said Cindy, and her enthusiasm and influence, made her very important to the PIA, and to the insurance community in Oregon and elsewhere.

“I am so saddened to hear of Cindy’s passing,” she said. “Cindy was deeply involved with PIA on event planning when I first started as the event planner for the PIA Western Alliance. She was always supportive of the PIA and what we stand for. She will be missed.”

Weekly Industry News received the information about Cindy’s passing from IPFS. It is a beautiful tribute to an incredible woman. Here is what the company wrote:

Cindy Brunner, who has been an integral part of the Oregon insurance community for nearly three decades. She began her industry career on the carrier side with American States Insurance Company in their Portland office out of high school. After kicking off her career with American States, Cindy joined Imperial PFS in 1996.

Cindy was not just a colleague of so many at IPFS; she was a cherished member of the IPFS team and industry community, whose dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working with and knowing her.

Her leadership, wisdom, and boundless enthusiasm were truly inspirational and instrumental in shaping the company’s success over the years. During her career, Cindy consistently exemplified the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and compassion. Her contributions were invaluable, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Throughout her career at IPFS, Cindy served in various roles, including Sales Executive, Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager, Corporate Trainer, and most recently as Regional Collection Manager for the West region.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Cindy’s husband, Lane, their 3 children, and 3 grandchildren as they navigate through this challenging period of grief and loss. May they find solace in the fond memories shared and the legacy she leaves behind.
