CPIA - Certified Professional Insurance Agent

Empowering Insurance Professionals into the Future

The CPIA designation is first-of-its-kind, hands-on, how-to training. To earn the CPIA designation candidates are required to participate in a series of three, one-day seminars THE BEST PART IS NO EXAMS!
Completion is due three years from the first course.

These seminars are designed to enhance the ability of producers, sales support staff, and company personnel to efficiently create and distribute effective insurance programs. Participants leave with ideas that will produce sales results immediately.

While not a requirement, it is recommended that courses are taken in order.E&O Discounts apply for Utica National Policy Holders.

During this workshop, participants learn:

This workshop focuses on fulfilling the implied promises contained in the insuring agreement.

Participants will:

review methods of providing evidence of insurance coverage

discuss policies and procedures for controlling errors and omissions including policy review and delivery, endorsements, claims-processing, and handling of client complaints

learn how to calculate the lifetime value of a client and techniques for generating referrals.

CPIA Update Requirement

The Certified Professional Insurance Agent designation stands for professionalism, commitment to professional training and results, and technical knowledge. To maintain the right
to use the CPIA designation, designees must complete an update on an annual basis * or maintain a Ruby, Sapphire or Diamond level membership with the CPIA Program.

S&P Global tracks corporate employment. The 2023 S&P Global Total Market Index is out and it found the number of women in senior levels of U.S. companies is dropping.

Until 2023 it had been going up.

S&P’s report said women hold 11.8% of the around15,000 C-suite companies it tracks.  That’s down from 12.2% in 2022. The overall decline is somewhere between 55 and 60 positions that include the world “chief” in the job title.

Sarah Cottle heads up data and insights at S&P Global Market Intelligence. She said the 55 to 60 job losses seems like a small number but it really isn’t and she’s concerned.

The why Cottle said is because the research shows women have been on the rise in C-suite jobs since 2005. That year the figure was 6.5%. By 2023, the number of senior positions almost tripled and sat at 22.3%.

Now they’re down.

“Women’s interests are better served in the community by companies that employ women at the top,” S&P’s Cottle said. “I hope this is an anomaly.”
