The Certified Insurance Counselor's (CIC) Program is the industry's proven source for practical, real-world insurance and risk management education. CIC also provides new learning opportunities, more update options, and more flexibility, as well as an expert faculty of inspiring insurance and risk management professionals. There are seven CIC institutes to choose from and a curriculum you can customize to your professional focus by combining one CRM or CPRM risk management course with the four CIC institutes of your choice.
Earn your CIC designation by completing your choice of five of the seven institutes and passing their corresponding exams within a five year window of time. By committing to the CIC designation path, participants learn how to manage and take charge of their futures and insurance careers.

James K. Ruble Seminars
James K. Ruble Seminars consist of two days (16 hours) of instruction and only available to those that hold the CIC designation. These seminars explore advanced topics and apply real life scenarios.
Important Notice Regarding 2026 Course Pricing
Beginning June 1, 2026, pricing for select CIC and Ruble programs will be updated. These adjustments reflect changes within the broader accredited curriculum structure that all approved providers follow, ensuring continued access to high‑quality, nationally recognized professional education.
The updated pricing will be as follows:
- CIC Webinar Courses: Increasing from $420 to $435
- CIC In‑Person Courses: Increasing from $434 to $449
- Ruble Graduate Seminars: Increasing from $450 to $465
PIA remains committed to delivering exceptional, accredited education and will continue to provide the highest level of service and program quality. We encourage students to register early for any sessions occurring before June 1, 2026, if they wish to secure current pricing.
