PIA Washington & PIA Montana — Don’t Miss the Coming Events!

When the PIA Washington and PIA Montana do things, they go all out. The two must-attend events are coming soon. PIA Washington’s TOPGOLF event will be about a month from now on August 13th.
PIA Montana’s annual conference happens on October 9th and 10th at the Helena Colonial in Helena.
Here are 5 Reasons to Attend the TOPGOLF Event:
1. Registration is FREE for PIA Members — an excellent enticement to become a member if you aren’t already.
2. No surprise, golfing is fun and this new kind of golfing is challenging and lots of FUN
3. As always, all PIA events stress networking with colleagues and exhibitors
4. You can earn 3 Continuing Education credits
5. Lastly, like all PIA events, this helps you stay current with what’s happening in the Insurance Industry

9:30 am — Registration opens
10:00 am — the general session is a 3-hour CE course titled Wildfire Risks and Insurance Solutions: Tools and Tactics for Agents To Become A Trusted Advisor with Nick Lamparelli.
His class looks at increasingly unpredictable climate and how wildfire risk has become a critical concern for homeowners and businesses. This session will equip you with the essential tools and strategies to not only understand the growing threat of wildfires but also to effectively communicate that risk to clients and prospects.
You will learn how to leverage current events and wildfire trends to engage with your clients, offering them actionable solutions to protect their property and assets. This session will cover:
- Understanding wildfire risk and its implications on property values and insurance needs.
- Effective risk management strategies to help clients minimize their exposure to wildfire damage.
- How to communicate these risks and challenges to clients in a way that positions you as a trusted advisor.
- Navigating the complexities of wildfire insurance policies and exclusions, and ensuring clients are adequately covered.
- Gain practical insights into wildfire preparedness and discover how to build deeper relationships with your clients by providing them with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed insurance decisions. Equip yourself with the expertise to address the evolving landscape of wildfire risks and become the go-to insurance advisor in your community.

The Montana conference will have CPIA designation classes 2 and 3, CE courses, plus networking with exhibitors and colleagues.

By the way, earning the designation with PIA is easy. Attend 3 modules. That's it. We started with CPIA 1 last year and now are bringing CPIA 2 and 3 this year so you can earn the designation or you can take one of our webinars to complete the process. The best part?

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm: CE - Cover Your Assets: EPLI Edition - The course is designed to show how clients can easily get into trouble with questions, remarks, hiring, termination and various inappropriate behaviors not only for their agency but for their clients as well. Additional emphasis on understanding coverage issues, various endorsements and privacy concerns will be discussed protecting the clients and their customers. 3 CE MT - speaker, Kathy Fraley
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Reception with Exhibitors: Our vendors are available throughout the day. Stop by their display on breaks and after our day together.

CE: - So You Have an E&O Claim? There is More to the Story - During the course of the study, specific exposure areas will be identified and related to the potential financial impact upon the agency. Available methods to reduce the risk of errors and omissions exposure will be examined. A brief scrutiny of the characteristics of Errors and Omissions policies and the impact of the characteristics upon Errors and Omissions claims payment will be discussed. 3 CE MT - speaker, Kathy Fraley
