Farmers & State Farm — Changes in California
Published September 23, 2025 at 11:06 AM · News Releases and Bulletins

Farmers Group is going to cut 63 jobs in California later this year and will not be filling those positions in the future. The cuts are in finance and insurance and will take place in late October.
The company is — however — going to add 100 employees for hybrid sales positions in four cities. Officials say the layoffs and job additions are a reallocation of resources.
State Farm has put a voluntary exit program into place. In addition, the company is instituting a workforce realignment process. Spokeswoman, Gina Morss-Fischer said the changes are part of an effort to make the company stronger and more flexible.
“Each business area will determine if, when, and how it will use the new program and process based on its needs,” she said. “We don’t have any actual or forecasted numbers to share with you at this time, and we do not anticipate involuntary exits outside of limited scenarios based on business area needs.”
State Farm — as you know — is the nation’s largest insurer and employs over 65,000 people.
