Five PIA Western Alliance States Consider the Best New Place to Work

The financial advisor firm, SmartAsset took a look at job hunting and listed the 10 best cities in the country in which to find a new one. To determine which cities are the best, SmartAsset looked at 348 cities with populations of 100,000 or more, to determine which are the best, and most suitable, for most family financial goals.
Five PIA Western Alliance state cities are in the top-10. They are number-one ranked, Bend, Oregon, Seattle and Bellevue, Washington ranked 3rd and 4th, Santa Clara, California and Sunnyvale, Washington, ranked 6th and 10th.
Here are the six categories used to determine the best cities:
- The 2023 unemployment rate
- The income-to-housing payment ratio
- Commute time
- Remote work opportunities
- Health insurance
- Income growth

Income growth over a 3 year period: 36%

4. Bellevue, Washington
Unemployment rate: 4.3%
Worker median earnings: $76,228
Income growth over a 3 year period: 32.4%
Remote workers: 24.6%
5. Carmel, Indiana
6. Santa Clara, California
Unemployment rate: 4.2%
Worker median earnings: $90,384
Income growth over a 3 year period: 41%
Remote workers: 16.5%
7. Cary, North Carolina
8. Sioux Falls, South Dakota
9. Westminster, Colorado

Unemployment rate: 3.5%
Worker median earnings: $111,905
