Published December 2, 2025 at 2:53 PM · News Releases and Bulletins

A lot of us travel over the holidays. Many travelers will be hitting what — to many these days — are being called the “unfriendly skies.” Much of the flight issues most of us face happens because of issues at airports.

Flight delays are often quite expensive. InsureMyTrip says a flight delay of six hours could end up costing an individual $250 for food, other transportation and other incidentals. An overnight delay often accounts for an additional $600 added to the cost of a trip.

The travel website, the Points Guy recently ranked the nation’s airlines to determine which will likely give you the best chance of getting from A to B without delay. Or if there is one, it will be a very short and easily remedied.

  • Reliability — 30%
  • Experience — 25%
  • Cost and reach — 20%
  • Loyalty — 25%

These are the five airlines that topped the Points Guy best list:

1. Delta

Cons: Being affordable

This is the 7th straight year that Delta has topped the TPG rankings.

2. United Airlines

Cons: Affordability and baggage

3. Southwest Airlines
