When it comes to available jobs, the PIA Western Alliance states aren’t all that good for job hunters. Washington ranks 14th and Arizona 19th in the country. All the other PIA Western Alliance states are below the number 25 median.

All of this comes courteous of WalletHub. The company is interested in all kinds of statistics and loves the topic of insurance.

This isn’t insurance but it is interesting.

WalletHub analyst, Chip Lupo said to decide which states are the best for people seeking employment, WalletHub’s researchers looked at 34 key indicators that reflect job-market strength and the health of the economy of a state.

“Living in one of the best states for jobs can provide stable conditions for the long-term, helping you ride out the fluctuations that the economy will experience in the future. The best states for jobs make it easier for residents to find and retain jobs, and employers in these states also offer very competitive compensation and benefits,” Lupo said. “In addition, the top states are great places for people looking to raise a family, ranking among the best states for working parents.”

On average the most job opportunities are found in North Dakota. The fewest are in the PIA Western Alliance states of Nevada (50), California (49) and Washington (48).

As noted earlier, the highest employment growth is in Vermont. The lowest numbers are the PIA Washington states of Washington (48) and Idaho (46).

The highest average monthly starting salary is found in the PIA Western Alliance state of Washington. Among the lowest are the PIA Western Alliance state of Alaska (50) and Hawaii (48).

Several of the states with the highest unemployment rates in the country are PIA Western Alliance states. California and Washington are tied for 46th with Ohio and the PIA Western Alliance state of Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the country.

The lowest average annual income is in West Virginia but the PIA Western Alliance state of New Mexico isn’t far behind and ranks 48th. Virginia has the highest average annual income.

When it comes to time spent working, People in Utah work the shortest amount of time. The PIA Western Alliance state of Oregon ranks 4th in the shortest time spent working. Alaska ranks 50th with the longest amount of time spent working.

When it comes to the average amount of time spent commuting to work, South Dakota has the shortest commute times. The PIA Western Alliance state of Montana has the 4th shortest time spent commuting.

The most time spent commuting is in New York, but The PIA Western Alliance state of Washington has the 46th most time spent commuting.

Stress at work? The least amount of stress is found in employees in the PIA Western Alliance state of Montana. The most stress is found in New Hampshire but employees in the PIA Western Alliance states Washington and Oregon have employees that are among those with the most stress.

Washington ranks 46th and Oregon 49th.
