Hopefully, this will not become a common occurrence. The head of Oregon’s workers’ compensation insurer, SAIF had his home riddled with bullets two weeks ago. Since then, SAIF CEO Chip Terhune said the company has received an email from a person claiming to be responsible.
In December of last year, UnitedHealthcare’s CEO Brian Thompson was murdered.
No one was injured by the bullets that hit Terhune’s home. Police say the shooter was on foot and wearing a hoodie or a ski mask. Once the firing stopped, the man or woman fled to a nearby car and sped off.
Authorities have not released a description of the vehicle.
Nor has anyone been able to determine a motive for the shooting. The email sent to SAIF states the shooter has knowledge of all SAIF employees and addresses and the addresses of their relatives. However, no specific threats were made to any employee just to employees in general.
