PIA Montana awarded its annual agent and company person of the year awards at last week’s annual conference. Karston Donoven of Duchscher Kapperud Insurance received the agent of the year award and Marshall Huff of Main Street America was given the company person of the year award.
Agent of the Year
The Agent of the Year Award is the PIA’s way of saying thank you and recognizing that special individual whose accomplishments exemplify the best qualities an independent insurance agent can possess: integrity, dedication and commitment to the members and goals of the PIA. As an organization, we offer no greater recognition than the PIA Agent of the Year.
The reasons Donoven was chosen as agent of the year are so many it would take too many pages to list them all. The person nominating hims said he has never had a bad day. He just is positive about everything.
His clients love him. The community loves him. Our contact at his agency said Donoven consistently commits to the betterment of all aspects in his personal and professional life through dedication and innovation.
What also sets him apart is his relentless pursuit of knowledge; he doesn’t just keep up with the industry — he masters it. In five years he’s transformed into a confident, shining expert who serves as an invaluable resource for every client he works with and helps.
And this growth isn’t just about personal success; it’s about providing the highest level of protection and insight to those who depend on him. His agency depends on him. His clients depend on him. His community depends on him.
Company Person of the Year:
Each year PIA members benefit from the contributions of time, money and expertise that come from our insurance company partners. In recognition of those contributions, the PIA honors one individual whose active involvement with PIA helps drive their company to support our efforts with our members.
As a company representative, you can’t be anything less than important to the agents and agencies you serve. That’s how Marshall Huff has built, and continues to build, trusted relationships and adds value in the company and its clients.
Our contact in his company said his agency visits bring practical, results-focused support, and he’s known for building lasting relationships with agency partners across his territory — reinforcing and bringing value through collaboration, accountability, and genuine commitment to helping agencies succeed.
That same person said Huff is a trusted leader among his peers, and agency partners, and is highly regarded for the expertise, tools, and the resources he brings to the table.
Best of all, when challenges arise, he steps in, finds solutions, and creatively fills gaps to ensure teams and agency partners have what they need to succeed.
