PIA Washington Awards 2025 Agent

PIA Washington’s agent of the year award went to Carmen Lampman of the Fournier Agency and the agency of the year is Totem Agencies in Kirkland.

The Agent of the Year Award is the PIA’s way of saying thank you and recognizing that special individual whose accomplishments exemplify the best qualities an independent insurance agent can possess: integrity, dedication and commitment to the members and goals of the PIA. As an organization, we offer no greater recognition than the PIA Agent of the Year. 

Grace. That’s a description we heard several times when learning more about Carmen. After the word grace, humble and personable followed. When told that she has been named the PIA Washington agent of the year, Carmen asked if the person telling her had the right person.

They did.

Then came more excellent adjectives from her supervisor. Words like knowledgable, all-knowing and expert came right before, “go to.” At that point, we came to our own conclusion. Can sainthood be far behind?

Carmen is indispensable in all areas of the agency’s operation from insurance expertise to assistance with clients to how to navigate today’s complex agency management systems and she is a mentor to much of the agency’s junior staff.

Troubled staffers regularly go to her for all kinds of advice from business to personal. Those concerns are met with smiles, hugs and an uplifting quote for every occasion.

Oh, and when she’s not doing all of the things we just listed, she actually works on her own client list. And, like her coworkers, her clients think she walks on water.  When they’re stumped and desperate for just the right coverage, Carmen finds a way to make it all work.

Lastly, she is the company’s resident plant lady and is actively in the process of replacing the agency’s plastic plants with the real deal. Her mission seems to be turning the office into a lush forest.

One day a room has plastic, the next day — presto — a new plant or two, or three. The office’s air is fresher which makes sense because we find Carmen Lampman of the Fournier Agency a breath of fresh air and she is is our 2025 PIA Washington agent of the year.
