Shaping the Future of PIA — Our 2025 Membership Survey
Published July 15, 2025 at 2:12 PM · News Releases and Bulletins

Your feedback is essential — it helps us improve the benefits, education and advocacy you count on. Whether you’ve been with us for years or just joined, your voice ensures we continue meeting the needs of today’s independent insurance agents.
Your feedback on this survey takes just 5 minutes
The survey starts with the basics and asks about your agency size, how much premium is written each year, types of insurance sold and what is the majority of your book of business?
Then it moves to membership and benefits with a question about why you became a PIA member. The association wants to know if the reasons are education and professional development, exclusive market access and carrier partnerships, networking and community, business tools and resources, industry communications like The PIA Connection, The PIA Advocacy Blog or others, and affiliate individual state communications like The PIA Western Alliance's Weekly Industry News.
PIA National wants to know what benefits you are using. The list is:
- E&O insurance
- Cyber liability insurance
- Disability insurance for your staff from The PIA Trust
- Rainbow insurance
- PIA Commercial lines market access program
- PIA Propeller
- Hartford Flood Insurance
- PIA DMV: Direct Marketing Vault
- Marketing support for PIA members
- Disability Insurance for your clients from Breeze
- The PIA Partnership Programs — Agency Journey Mapping, Winning@Series
- The PIA 401k
- Ascend payments
- PIA Blueprint for Agency Success
- ACORD Forms End User License
- Agency Agreement Review Service
- Ideal Traits Hiring Platform
- Omnia Employee Profiting
- Continuing Education
- Certifications like CPIA/Trusted Risk Advisor
And it wants to know if you are aware of all of the benefits — like those listed above — that are available to you because of your membership.
The survey then poses a question on what benefits you'd like to see added to The PIA lineup. There is a question that asks you what is your biggest industry concern. Another one wants to know what The PIA could do to improve, and better support, your agency.
The association also wants to know if you have participated in PIA Advocacy Day at the national or state level, and if you have contacted your legislators through a PIA Grassroots Action Alert.
The last question in that section deals with what is the most important function of an insurance association like The PIA. The list is:
- Community and networking opportunities
- Advocacy and government affairs
- Events and education
- Cost of membership
- Member benefits and resources
You are asked to put them in the order from what you think is most important to the least important.
PIA National also wants to know if it can use your testimonial about why you chose the be a member of The PIA and what you love most about that membership.
