Spokane, Washington arson suspect, 37-year old, Aaron Farinacci is facing five counts of arson for setting the Old Trails fire, one of three that destroyed over 700 homes and buildings and caused 65,000 people to evacuate.
Detectives say the man has admitted to setting more than two dozen fires in the past year. Four of them have been confirmed so more charges will likely be filed.
The other fires include:
• The Aubrey White Fire on July 6, 2025
• It burned over 1,200 acres
• The Equestrian Fire on July 8, 2025
• The Indian Bluff Fire on July 24, 2025
One of the detectives on the case said Farinacci "feels fire is powerful, beautiful, and that things that go through fire experience a kind of rebirth.”
