The headline is about traffic. But let’s talk household vehicles first. According to Forbes Advisor 91.7% of all households in the United States have at least one vehicle. That’s a 3.66% increase from 2018 to 2021.
And these days trucks are the most popular vehicle to have in the U.S.
Rural areas have more vehicles per 1,000 drivers than cities. The PIA Western Alliance state of Montana has the most registered vehicles per 1,000 licensed drivers than any state in the union.
Montana has 2,492.55 vehicles per licensed driver. The Treasure State is followed by South Dakota, Wyoming, North Dakota and Iowa.
The state with the fewest vehicles per 1,000 licensed drivers is Delaware with 547.23. It is followed by the District of Columbia, New York, New Jersey and the PIA Western Alliance state of Arizona is fifth.
According to Forbes Advisor, 91.7% of households in the United States had at least one vehicle in 2021. Overall, the number of registered vehicles in the U.S. increased 3.66% between 2017 and 2021, with trucks being the most popular type of vehicle.
