The community networking company, Glassdoor has issued some new — and interesting — data on employees, employers and AI. The company found since 2019, employee discussion about AI has steadily moved to the negative. Public distrust of AI execs in the most popular AI companies has become more intense. This is especially true of younger adults.

From May of 2025 to May 2026, employees mentioning AI in workplace conversations on its site grew 240%.

• 81% of the reviews mentioning AI were positive in 2019

• In 2026 the positive number is 43%

• The negatives hit 53%

A CNBC Generation Lab survey found trust in the leaders of AI companies dropping like a stone.

• 75% of adults 18 to 34 do not trust Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei to act responsibly with the technology

• 70% had the same feelings about OpenAI CEO Sam Altman

• 70% do not trust Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg

• Amodei found the reaction to be a “crisis of trust”

The take of employees:

• 44% said AI has given their company commercial benefits

• 41% say AI gives them helpful tools, training and other employer support

• On the negative, 20% worry AI will replace them

• Others say AI is distracting the company from its core business and workplace-surveillance concerns

• Employees viewing parts of AI as negative are 3.7% more likely to say they’re burned out or insecure about their job status

• When it comes to layoffs, 25% view AI as a negative & responsible for the reduction in staff
