The 2020 Washington Joint Conference and Trade Show has been postponed. It was scheduled for September 15-17 at the Tulalip Resort and Casino in Marysville, Washington.
The new date is September 22-24, 2021 at the same resort.
PIA Western Alliance Vice President of Non-Profit Operations Kim Legato announced the decision last week and said in the interest of the health and safety of all who attend PIA events, and that many carriers have suspended all travel for the rest of the year, the decision was made to reschedule.
“As the Covid19 situation has progressed, we have spent a lot of time discussing the situation with our board’s and committees, the staff at Salishan and our members,” she said. “We have polled our members and carrier representatives to get a feel of what their company policy is about resuming attendance to any industry function.”
It is the hope of the leadership of the PIA and the Insurance Agents & Brokers of Washington (IIABW) that people plan to attend next year.
“Since 2011 the Washington Joint Conference has brought together the best the industry has to offer in education and networking,” she said. “We encourage agents/brokers, CSRs, and marketing reps to mark their calendar and plan to attend this important event. This is the only annual statewide industry event in Washington giving hundreds of agents/brokers the opportunity to meet with and learn from insurance companies, wholesalers and other companies they do business with.”
